North Caddo Shooting Victim Named By Coroner
A man shot and killed on Interstate 49 near Gilliam in north Caddo Parish late Sunday, January 17, 2021, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner s office.
 Allen Wesley Jefferson of Shreveport, 41, was shot in the head around 2 p.m. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital where he succumbed to his wounds at 3:55 p.m.
The victim was in a car with family members headed north on I-49 near Gilliam when he got into an argument with his nephew, 21-year-old Traveion Fields. Fields pulled out a gun and shot his uncle in the back of the head. The news release says: ....

Violent Weekend in Shreveport Leaves 2 Dead


Shreveport police officers are investigating a shooting Sunday night on Lakeshore Drive in the Country Club neighborhood. One man was found dead. The suspect was last seen running behind some homes in the area.
Also this weekend, a Bossier City man has been arrested in connection with a shooting on I-49 in north Shreveport.

CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) — A Shreveport resident is the man who was fatally shot in his head on Interstate 49 near Gilliam, the Caddo coroner’s office reports.
Allen Wesley Jefferson, 41, was shot about 2 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to Ochsner LSU Health, the Shreveport hospital where he died at 3:55 p.m. the same day. ....
