In a bid to provide relief to COVID-19 hit businesses, the finance ministry had on May 1 notified nine changes in the compliance requirements under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime. ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin on Friday asked the textile houses to consolidate their fragmented business and promote value-added exports on competitive basis internationally.
Tarin met foreign investors and textile industrialists in separate meeting and expressed commitment to targeted incentives to drive export-led inclusive growth.
“Government is firmly committed to providing incentives to business community which are targeted and sustainable in the long-run,” he said during a meeting with the representatives of Overseas Investment Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Pakistan Business Council.
“The end goal is to achieve an all-inclusive sustainable economic growth which leads to industrialisation, employment generation, export-led growth and import substitution.” ....

NZ Commerce Commission seeks views on regulatory priorities for energy networks, airports

New Zealand’s competition enforcement agency The Commerce Commission is seeking public views on how it should prioritise its regulatory work program in a move aimed at helping the energy and airport sectors address upcoming issues including the country’s transition to a low-carbon economy and managing any continuing impact of COVID-19.
The Commission has published an open letter canvassing the views and says responses to the letter will inform its regulatory work as it seeks to provide “certainty to businesses while delivering long-term benefits for consumers” in accordance with its mandate under Part 4 of the Commerce Act. ....
