New Delhi [India], May 28 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Indian independence leader and Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar took to Twitter to post Veer Nahi, Maafi Veer. The AAP leader posted a picture of an alleged mercy petition that Savarkar had written to the British government requesting his release from the Cellular Jail in Andamans. Veer Nahi, Maafi Veer, Khan tweeted portraying Savarkar as an apologetic hero.
Meanwhile many politicians paid tributes to the freedom fighter.
Earlier in the day taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister called Savarkar a great freedom fighter and a fierce nationalist. ....

Literacy rate in Pakistan stagnates at 60 per cent: Survey

Islamabad [Pakistan], May 23 (ANI): A survey by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reveals that literacy rate among children aged 10 and above in Pakistan has stagnated at 60 per cent.
The PBS survey is aimed at providing data for monitoring development plans at national, provincial and district levels for evidence-based policymaking, reported The Express Tribune.
It provided detailed outcome indicators at district level with urban and rural breakdown on education, health, housing, water sanitation and hygiene, along with information-on-information communication and technology (ICT), food insecurity experience scale (FIES) and disability and migration. ....

Washington [US], May 23 (ANI): The human body is constantly exposed to various environmental actors, from viruses to bacteria to fungi, but most of these microbial organisms provoke little or no response from our skin, which is charged with monitoring and protecting from external dangers.
During a recent study, UC San Diego School of Medicine researchers identified how the body regulates and prevents constant skin inflammation.The findings of the study were published in the journal Science Immunology. Until now, researchers were not quite sure how that happened and why our skin was not constantly alarmed and inflamed. ....

The Delta Police Command has debunked reports that it had stopped or withdrawn policemen from escorting VIPs in the state.
Ag Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, refuted the claim, on Thursday, in a statement made available to
Tribune Online in Warri, Delta State.
“The attention of the Delta State Police Command has been drawn to a recent publication online which says ‘Police withdraw escort of VIPs to South-East and South-South.’
“The command, therefore, wishes to state that the Wireless Message quoted in the said publication was self-explanatory and that at no point in the said Wireless Message, did the command stop or withdraw Policemen from escorting VIPS to any of these two geographical zones as stated above. ....
