CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Pharmacies like CVS say some people in Virginia Department of Health’s Phase 1b may be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in the commonwealth, but not at one of their pharmacies.
However, CVS says it works with state and federal officials to set eligibility requirements, and is working with VDH to expand to all groups in Phase 1b.
An official with the health department says Virginia asked CVS to prioritize people on its wait list and those 65 and older, K-12 teachers and daycare and preschool workers. ....

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Blue Ridge Health District (BRHD) is urging you to pre-register now, whether you qualify for the COVID-19 vaccine or not.
“It doesn’t matter what age range you fall into, or what your employment might be, or what health conditions you might have. Anybody who’s interested in getting the vaccine at some point can go ahead right now and should go ahead right now and pre-register for their COVID-19 vaccine,” BRHD spokesperson Jason Elliott said. ....

Fellowship Square Residents Begin to Receive COVID vaccine


Seniors living in two of Fellowship Square’s housing communities have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The first dose of the vaccine was distributed on Jan. 18 at Lake Anne Fellowship House in Reston. Another dose was administered at Lake Ridge Fellowship House in Woodbridge on Jan. 19. The vaccine will be provided for residents at Hunters Woods Fellowship House in Reston in February.
The move falls in line with the Virginia Department of Health’s Phase 1b for distribution of the vaccine: “Vaccinate Frontline Essential Workers, People Aged 65 years and Older, People Living in Correctional Facilities, Homeless Shelters and Migrant Labor Camps, and People aged 16 through 64 years with a High Risk Medical Condition or Disability that Increases Their Risk of Severe Illness from COVID-19.” ....
