The Commerce Township Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire before it could spread to other homes. The homeowner said he’s grateful his family and cats got out safely. (WXYZ) â A 26-year-old man riding a snowmobile on Wolverine Lake died Sunday when the vehicle crashed through the ice, authorities said. Police say the man, who was from Wixom, was under the water for an hour before being removed by the Oakland County Dive Team. The man was taken to Huron Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
