NORTH DAKOTA Being a sexual assault nurse examiner, or SANE nurse, isn t in any job description.
We don t make anybody choose this role or choose this position because it s passion, said Lisa Jackson, foundation director for Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
SANE nurses are paid for their time, but it s time on top of their regular duties.
It s not an easy thing to do, said Jackson.
At Jamestown Regional Medical Center, the program isn t in its regular budget. Training and paying for their eight SANE nurses comes from fundraisers and grants from the state. ....
