Feds: Sex offender who fled CT with girlfriend sentenced

A former Waterbury resident was recently sentenced to four years in prison after he fled to Mexico with his girlfriend after violating sex offender laws, federal prosecutors said.
Lester B. Joy, 40, was sentenced by Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport on Friday to serve 48 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Joy previously pleaded guilty on Nov. 3, 2020, to failing to register as a sex offender. ....
