Highest-risk health care workers now eligible for earlier second dose of vaccine

Waterloo Region is now accepting requests for an earlier appointment for a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from highest-risk health care workers. These highest-risk health care workers were identified by the Province for a shortened interval between first and second doses of the vaccine.
“The Waterloo Region Vaccine Distribution Task Force is committed to balancing the priority of getting first doses in arms as quickly as possible with the priority to get second doses to those identified by the Province as being at highest risk,” said Shirley Hilton, Deputy Chief for Waterloo Region Police Service and Lead of the Waterloo Region Vaccine Distribution Task Force. “With more vaccine on the way, we’ll be increasing our capacity at our vaccination clinics in the weeks ahead.” ....

Mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic set to open for adults over 80

KITCHENER
Waterloo s mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic, located at 435 The Boardwalk, is set to open Thursday.
People over 80 will be vaccinated first, followed by other people who are eligible as Phase One priority populations.
This is a public health-run clinic, said Cynthia Voisin of The Boardwalk Management. It is going to be run during daytime hours to start. A lot of it s going to be dictated by the amount of vaccine supply we have in the region, so they re initially starting Monday to Friday by appointment only.
A Cambridge clinic will open for people over 80 on the week of March 8. That location will be announced later this week. ....

The Region of Waterloo has announced where two large public health vaccination clinics will be located as it prepares its COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan.

The Region of Waterloo revealed the locations for two large public health vaccination clinics. One clinic will be located at The Boardwalk in Waterloo. A second clinic will open at the former RONA building on Pinebush Road in Cambridge.(Evan Mitsui/CBC) ....
