Veteran left-handed pitcher Danny Duffy was traded by the Kansas City Royals to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. Duffy, 32, is a graduate of Cabrillo High in Lompoc. He was a third-round draft pick by the Royals out of high school in 2007 and has played his entire major league career in Kansas City. He was traded for a player to be named later. Duffy, who grew up in Goleta before his family moved to Vandenberg Village, is currently on the 10-day injured list with a left flexor strain. But that didn’t stop the Dodgers, who see him as a big piece to its success down the stretch of the regular season and in the postseason. ....

Beginning Aug. 1, the California Department of Public Health will assist Santa Barbara County Public Health with mobile, pop-up, on-site vaccination clinics across the county.
