20 Jul 2021 Aleida Guevara March, daughter of communist mass murderer Ernesto “Che” Guevara, has urged the Cuban Communist Party to enact more violent repressive measures against the thousands of “low-class people” protesting on the island, AmericaTeVe reported on Tuesday. Guevara, an Argentine-Irish communist who joined Fidel Castro’s small group of violent Marxists in the takeover of the country in 1959, served as economics minister in the early days of the Cuban Revolution. He spearheaded programs to build concentration camps for suspected homosexual Cubans and Christian groups, organized firing squads against political dissidents, and openly boasted to the United Nations that the Revolution intended to kill large numbers of Cuban people. ....

Peña was 57 years old and, in addition to holding a pivotal military post, was a member of the Communist Party’s central committee. The Communist Party did not disclose a cause of death or offer any indication of what preceded his passing. “Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Sunday mourned the recent death of Division General Agustin Peña, chief of the Eastern Army, and sent his condolences to his family, friends and combatants,” the Cuban state outlet Prensa Latina revealed on Sunday. “On his official Twitter account, the president wrote that the news is very painful and sad.” ....

The Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) has experienced a rapid expansion of its services in recent years, with 6.6 million mobile phone users in 2020 and 4.4 million people with access to the Internet via mobile telephony. The company deployed 816 mobile base stations with different technologies, reaching 85.61-percent coverage countrywide; 151 municipalities already have 4G coverage, while 59 percent of the country s municipalities have access to the 3G network, Cubadebate reported on its website. ....
