Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has called on the federal government to resume work on the Gas Revolution Industrial Park project in Ogidigben, Warri South-West Local Government Area of the state.
Mr Okowa made the call on Friday shortly after inspecting the ongoing construction work at the multi-billion Naira Floating Market at Ogheye in Warri North Local Government Area.
Mr Okowa, accompanied by the deputy governor of the state, Kingsley Otuaro, said the Gas Revolution Industrial Park project had been delayed for too long. He urged the federal government to immediately look into the issues surrounding the delay. ....

In order to avert another Ijaw/Itsekiri crisis in Delta State, rights activist and Itsekiri leader, Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor, yesterday appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to caution the Gbaramatu Youth Council over an alleged threat to shut down operations of Chevron Nigeria Limited and sack Itsekiri people from their community over a recent oil spill in Gbaramatu in the state.
Members of the youth council were alleged to have threatened a showdown if the Itsekiri people were made a party to the Joint Inspection Verification (JIV) team of the government and relevant stakeholders, insisting that the deal must be an all Gbaramatu affair. ....

Our attention has been drawn to the well-orchestrated and brilliant looking design, the handiwork of a few powerful, politically influential and wealthy Itsekiri leaders of Warri North Local Government origin to cede Warri North Local Government Chairmanship seat to the Ijaws of the LGA in exchange for the 2023 Delta South Senatorial seat, for a yet to be named member of the Itsekiri leadership cartel.
