The Solano County Transit (SolTrans) Board of Directors will decide Thursday whether to award a multi-million dollar contract for transit operations to a well-known service provider, ending an eight-year relationship with its current vendor.
SolTrans staff is recommending the board approve a five-year contract with Transdev Services Inc., which includes five one-year options that can extend the life of the contract through June 30, 2031. Transdev has over 200 contract operations throughout the nation, with many of those agreements in California, staff added.
If approved by the board, Transdev will take over operations on July 1, which will cost the transit agency about $9.1 million for fiscal 2021-22. The 10-year budget estimate over the life of contract is about $120 million. ....

Solano County began allowing individuals ages 50 and older to receive coronavirus vaccinations on Monday in an effort to fill appointment slots that were going unused, county officials said.
Solano County health officials made the decision over the weekend to expand vaccine eligibility to people as young as 50 to fill available appointment slots, said Ted Selby, an administrator with Solano County Emergency Medical Services Agency. ....

The Royal Oak is closing, and with it comes the end of the original fern bars of San Francisco.
It’s on sale for $8.5 million. That buys you not just the bar but the entire 4,900-square-foot property, with its corner location on Polk and Vallejo, plus the four apartments above.
