Steen Jakobsen, the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Economist of SAXO Bank expressed himself more than optimistic about Malta s prospects for economic recovery at the end of a business webinar Trade, Transport and Tourism - A Macro-economic analysis for post-COVID Investing .
The webinar, organised by the Malta Maritime Forum and Bank of Valletta with the support of Saxo Bank, was attended by well over 100 participants. It was targeted at business players in the maritime sector and shed light on the immediate and medium-term world economic outlook in light of the current extraordinary circumstances, characterised by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as significant political and environmental/climate change factors. ....

Viking Sea in Bodrum Cruise Port for crew embarkation


Viking Sea berthed alongside in Bodrum Cruise Port, Turkey
Viking Sea is currently at Bodrum Cruise Port in Turkey for crew embarkation and provisions.
The Viking Cruises ship which arrived on Sunday from Trieste will stay for nine days to board its 278 crew in accordance with safety and health procedures, ahead of resuming cruise operations.
Viking Sea will leave Bodrum on May 31 with crew to sail to Valletta Cruise Port in Malta.  Viking Sea, Viking Venus and Viking Star will sail round-trip cruises from Malta in July.
Haluk Hızlan, general manager of Bodrum Cruise Port commented: ‘The safety and health of all visitors of Bodrum Cruise Port is the outmost importance. He cited ease of air connectivity and as a non-EU country the Turkish visa regime for crew members provides a significant convenience to cruise lines for crew changes especially those from Asia and the Asia Pacific region. ....
