SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An 11-year-old is charged with three counts of arson after three recent fires.
Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran wrote on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page that the charges are a result of a Park Avenue apartment fire in Sandersville on July 1 and two separate fires on July 4 in Bartow.
The juvenile is being held in a state juvenile facility awaiting a hearing in Washington County Juvenile Court.
“I appreciate the cooperation between the Washington County Fire Fighters, State Fire Marshal’s Office and collaboration of local law enforcement from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Sandersville Police Department with bringing this case to a resolution in a timely manner,” Cochran wrote. ....

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. An 11-year-old was arrested and charged with arson after a fire that happened at a trailer home on Highway 242 on Sunday.
According to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, the juvenile faces 3 counts of arson in separate fires that happened at the mobile home in rural Washington County near Bartow as well as at Park Avenue Apartments in Sandersville on July 1. ....

The Oregon Court of Appeals on Wednesday overturned the 2017 murder conviction of a teen charged with fatally stabbing a woman as she hung fliers outside a Washington County apartment complex where she was a leasing agent.
The court overturned the conviction of Jaime Tinoco-Camarena, now 24, concluding that prosecutors should not have introduced testimony about his conviction in a separate case the 2014 rape of a woman in Eugene. He remains in custody at the Oregon State Penitentiary.
In the high-profile Washington County trial, Tinoco-Camarena was accused of stabbing Nicole Laube outside a Cedar Mill apartment complex in August 2014.
