Wigan Athletic hire former Dundee United chief Mal Brannigan April 1, 2021 Former Dundee United chief Mal Brannigan has joined his latest club, becoming chief executive at Wigan Athletic. Phoenix 2021 Limited have taken over at Wigan following financial hardship at the League One club. The takeover has been headed by Bahrain businessman Tamal Mubarak Al-Hammad and Brannigan will be the club’s new chief executive. Wigan have appointed the former Dundee United man as CEO. Phoenix 2021 Limited has now completed all of the technical information required and received confirmation that all matters associated with membership of the EFL have been concluded.”

MARKET REPORT: Berkeley Group shares suffer

Britain s housing market has been booming throughout the pandemic, but that didn t help Berkeley Group s shares yesterday.  The housebuilder was the biggest faller on the FTSE100 after flagging delays in procuring materials since the end of the Brexit transition arrangement, and changing sales times on some of its developments due to the pandemic.  Covid appears to have had little impact on Berkeley so far. For the financial year, ending in April, the company expects to generate a similar profit to the £504million it made a year earlier.  And forward sales are expected to be above £1.7billion by then, taking the firm into next year in a strong position.
