And after months of being transcended, what was already an open secret took shape yesterday. A new movement shook the telecommunications market. The North American company ViacomCBS (VCNI) announced that its subsidiary ViacomCBS Networks International has agreed to acquire Chilevisión from WarnerMedia.
The acquisition covers all of Chilevisión’s brands and assets, including its broadcast television signal, which will complement Viacom’s global content offering. The purchase price – which is held in reserve – will be financed with existing cash balances from ViacomCBS. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals by the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) and the closing conditions.
