FWP transplants bighorn sheep into Little Belt Mountains

After scattering like wildfire in a gust of wind, 49 bighorn sheep have settled in to their new home in the Little Belt Mountains.
“One ewe went 24 miles north on the day of the release, turned around and came back,” said Jay Kolbe, wildlife biologist for the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks in White Sulphur Springs.
Kolbe was able to see the large movement because the animals are wearing GPS collars that reveal their location twice a day for as long as five years. One of the five rams trapped and relocated traveled about 10 miles east to the Judith Gap area after release before traveling back to the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. ....

Helen “Jo Shipman passed away on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 2020, from COVID-19. She was born in Winifred, Montana to Clyde and Nellie Carson.
Jo completed high school in three years. She attended and graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Spanish and education. The next year she taught and coached volleyball, basketball and softball in Spray, Oregon.
She returned to Montana and married Frank Kolar. They had seven children, Nelita Kolar (Schlosser) deceased, Phillip Kolar (Darla), Laurence Kolar, Francine Cummings (Chet), Eleanor Doucette (Pat), Mary Kolar, Sheila Kolar-Gioioso (Michael). They eventually bought and moved to the ranch north of Lewistown and raised sheep. Frank Kolar passed away in 1965. Jo married David Shipman in 1970, bringing Andrew Shipman to the family. Together they had one child, Zelda Boogman (Han). ....

Frank Moeller, who became licensee of Napier s Masonic Hotel on January 1, 1892, would prove to be not only one of the most popular publicans in Napier, but also a well-respected citizen.
He had previously
managed the Occidental Hotel in Wellington for his mother, after the death of his father Philip in 1885. ....
