NZ travel bubble: NZ-born execs expect 'party atmosphere' on first bubble flight

From Monday, Jetstar, Qantas and Air New Zealand flights will commence the trans-Tasman bubble, with a number of executives aboard, many on combined business and pleasure, or ‘bleisure’.
Unicef CEO Tony Stuart is on the first Qantas flight to Auckland out of Sydney on April 19 – and can’t wait to see his mum in Lake Taupo. She turns 90 next week.

“I think it’s going to be a bit of a party atmosphere on board,” Stuart said on Friday. “New Zealand-born CEOs in Australia have an informal group going; we call ourselves the ABINs – Australians Born in New Zealand – and there are quite a few of us heading over in the ‘first wave’ as we’re calling it, which is people flying in the next few weeks.” ....

The Covid-19 vaccine roll out across the world has raised hopes of business recovery among Indonesian travel agents, most of whom are regarding 2021 with cautious optimism.
Budijanto Ardiansjah, vice chairman of the Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA), said the widespread availability of Covid-19 vaccines is the turning point for the industry, as inoculated consumers will have confidence to return to travel. ....
