India will be witnessing two big events on Tuesday first, its 72nd Republic Day celebrations, and second, protesting farmers tractor parades. With this, a five-layer security cover has been deployed in and around the city to maintain law and order.
The Republic Day parade will start at 9 AM conclude after the traditional fly past 11.25 AM because of the coronavirus outbreak. The ceremony will commence with Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the National War Memorial. As per tradition, the national flag will be unfurled followed by the national anthem with a booming 21-gun salute. The parade will commence with President Ram Nath Kovind taking the salute. ....

Flight Lieutenant Bhawana Kanth, the first woman in India to qualify for combat mission in a fighter jet, today became the first woman fighter pilot to participate in the Republic Day fly-past.

In a first, a Bangladeshi tri-service contingent led India’s Republic Day parade on the iconic Rajpath in the heart of the national capital Tuesday.
The 122-member Bangladeshi armed forces contingent led the first 10 rows of India’s 72nd Republic Day parade to commemorate 50 years of the 1971 Liberation War, which led to the liberation of Bangladesh from Pakistan.
The tri-service contingent, led by Lt Col Mohatsim Haider Chaudhury, comprised of the Bangladesh Army in the first six rows, followed by two rows of the Navy and two rows of the Air Force in the end. ....
