The guns blazing across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, since the terrorist attack on a military camp in the border town of Uri in 2016 were suddenly silenced on the intervening night of February 25. While this ceasefire is holding and it was now expected that it will graduate towards further movements, the latest U-turn by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on resumption of trade brought to the fore that a sustainable peace process was still far away.

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Bipin Rawat has said that China is capable of cyber attacks against India and a mechanism is being readied to combat any such move.
In his address at the Vivekananda International Foundation on Wednesday, Rawat said that the leadership of India has demonstrated political will and determination in maintaining vital national interests in view of the 'unprovoked attack' on the security and dignity of the country. His remarks are being seen in the context of the deadlock with China in eastern Ladakh.

Video The highest-ranked officer in India’s armed forces has admitted that China has cyber-war capabilities that can overwhelm his nation’s defenses and suggested that only cross-forces collaboration will get India to parity with its giant neighbor.
General Bipin Rawat, a four-star general and since 2020 the first to hold a new role of chief of defense staff, offered that assessment yesterday in a talk hosted by Indian think tank the Vivekananda International Foundation.
Asked about capability gaps between India and China, general Rawat admitted India is behind China in several military fields, then added: “The biggest differential lies in the field of cyber.”

New Delhi– China can disrupt systems by launching cyber attacks on India and a mechanism is being readied to combat any such move, Chief of Defence Staff(CDS), General Bipin Rawat, said at an event here on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Vivekananda International Foundation on shaping the armed forces to meet the likely current and future challenges, General Rawat said, “We may not be able to fully catch up with China. So we are trying to develop some kind of a relationship with the western nations and see how better we can get some support from them, during peace time at least, which will help us overcome this deficiency.”

Owing to differences in capabilities in the cyber domain, China is capable of launching cyber attacks against India and disrupting a large number of systems, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat said on Wednesday.
“We know China is capable of launching cyber attacks on us. And that he (China) can disrupt a large amount of our systems,” Rawat said in response to a question after delivering a talk on “Shaping the Armed Forces to Meet Likely Current and Future Challenges” at an event organised by the Vivekananda International Foundation.
