The Dennis Taylor Scholarship Foundation for the Performing Arts will be awarding college scholarships for the 2021-22 school year.
The deadline for submitting application materials is Friday, April 2. Interviews will be conducted by invitation and appointment only on Saturday, April 10, via Zoom.

Awards are available to students of voice, instrument, theater and dance residing in Chicago s western suburbs.
Applicants may be postsecondary, undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in the performing arts and who demonstrate a passion for performance.
Ten scholarships were awarded for the current school year.
Candidates can complete a scholarship application at www.dennistaylorsf.org. ....

Young artists win Illinois American Water s annual art contest

Young artists across Illinois participated in Illinois American Water s annual art contest to illustrate the importance of reliable water service. Entries from third- to fifth-grade students captured what water service means to them. Of the many entries received, Illinois American Water chose 15 winners who earned their classrooms a $100 donation.

Illinois American Water offers the contest in conjunction with the Value of Water Coalition s annual Imagine a Day Without Water event to raise awareness about the value of water service. ....

Make-A-Wish Illinois seeks area volunteers

Every day, more children in Illinois are diagnosed with critical illnesses that would qualify them for Make-A-Wish. In fact, more than 100 wish children in Illinois are waiting for volunteers to help grant their wishes. Start the year off by enriching your life and others through volunteering as a wish granter for children in your area.
Wishes are happening now, and volunteers are needed in most Illinois communities to work with families in safely distanced ways following local, state and Centers for Disease Control guidelines.

Volunteers bilingual in Spanish and English are especially needed.
To become a volunteer, the first step is to attend a Volunteer Information webinar. The next sessions are: 5 to 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4; noon to 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18; 8 to 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 3; or 5 to 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 16. Sign up at wish.org/illinois/our-events. ....
