MidWest Simon Community which supports homeless people in Limerick, Tipperary and Clare has received a consignment of period products from Lidl Ireland to mark Menstrual Hygiene Day. May 27th.
The donations will support women and girls affected by period poverty across the three counties.
Last month Lidll became the first retailer in the world to offer free period products to those affected by period poverty in stores nationwide.
The supermarket chain has also committed to ongoing donations of these products through a partnership with The Simon Communities of Ireland and Homeless Period Ireland. ....

Newbridge school to adopt new measures in relation to period poverty

A proposal for St Conleth’s Community College in Newbridge put together to provide free sanitary products to people affected by period poverty has received a very favourable response from the school and is to be adopted in September for the new school year, it has emerged.
The proposal was put together by local student James Stokes (15) in collaboration with other students and the support of Cllr Chris Pender.
Student James said: “Period products, such as pads and tampons, should be available for all who need them, when they need them, in order to access education. Having periods should not be a barrier to education for anyone. ....

Riley s subscription boxes start at €6.90. For every box sold, €1 goes to Development Pamoja, a registered Irish charity based in Kenya. This initiative supplies sanitary products to young girls, and stocks the development s medical clinics.
