OLYMPIA, Wash.  A bill to toughen dui laws in Washington State got a hearing Friday.
Senate Bill 5054 would lookback 15 years instead of the current 10 for prior impaired driving offenses.
The offense would become a felony on a driver’s third strike over that time.
The Washington Association of Prosecuting attorneys testified in favor, while defense attorneys said offenders deserve a second chance.
SB 5054 passed the Senate March 1st and is set for executive session in the House Committee on Public Safety this Thursday.

Some law enforcement could see pay increases, more benefits through Georgia bills
