West End in The Woods coming to Wasing Park Estate in Berkshire

WONDERMENT Group and Wasing Estate have announced ‘West End in The Woods’, an outdoor West End concert and dining experience, will be held in the woodland of Wasing Park Estate this weekend.
The show will be taking place on Friday, June 4, and Saturday, June 5, 2021. Due to popular demand a matinee show has now also been added on Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
West End in The Woods aims to bring the essence of the West End and its hugely talented stars back onto the stage after a devastating year for the industry, which still sees London’s theatres closed. ....

A planning appeal for a farm shop to support West Berkshire s rural economy has been refused because of the increased carbon footprint on country roads.
The Wasing Estate challenged West Berkshire Council s refusal of its plans to turn Shalford Farm into an estate farm shop, with overnight accommodation for wedding parties.
A bakery, fermentary, cookery school and event space were also planned for the site, on Back Lane, which is currently used for vehicle storage.
Councillors refused the plans last year over increased vehicle traffic to the non-sustainable location. And it was this reliance and increase of motor vehicles that lead the Planning Inspectorate to dismiss the scheme. ....

A SENIOR West Berkshire Council officer has said the council “will not have its fingers burned again” over plans for thousands of homes.
The fields at north east Thatcham have been put forward by a consortium of land owners and developers, including Donnington New Homes, The Wasing Estate, A2Dominion and Ptarmigan Land.
Speaking at last week’s meeting, Richard Crumly (Con, Thatcham Central) said he feared a repeat of the ongoing situation at Sandleford Park in Newbury. ....

PROPOSALS for Thatcham to grow by 25 per cent are being put forward in what would be the single largest development in West Berkshire in living memory.
West Berkshire Council has recommended north east Thatcham to take up to 2,500 homes in its Local Plan Review 2020-2037, which assesses future housing needs.
Around 170 hectares of land stretching from the top of Floral Way to Colthrop and into Midgham parish has been identified for the development.
The land, split into four separate parcels, is being put forward by a consortium of land owners and developers, including Donnington New Homes, The Wasing Estate, A2Dominion and Ptarmigan Land. ....
