Veterans Homecoming Parade honors military on Aug. 7

PIGEON FORGE — In honor of U.S. military veterans, Pigeon Forge will host its seventh annual Veterans Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Aug. 7. World War II veteran and Pigeon Forge resident James Householder returns as parade grand marshal. Householder will be joined by fellow local veterans Tom Lavin and Don Luckett, both of whom are volunteers for the Pigeon Forge Special Events department.
Householder is one of the few remaining World War II veterans residing in Sevier County. A 1944 graduate of Sevier County High School, Householder also graduated from Maryville College where he met his wife Julia. Retired from the electrical business, Householder is a former Pigeon Forge city commissioner. ....

Jack Dale Duggan


Jack Dale Duggan, age 83, of Pigeon Forge, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021 with his family by his side.
He was born on March 10, 1937 to William and Mamie Fox Duggan in the family home. At the age of 7, Jack and his family moved from Walden’s Creek to a farm in the heart of Pigeon Forge. At the age of 18 he left Pigeon Forge and enlisted in the Army. He served in Germany and was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, serving as a Staff Sergeant. He retired from the United States Army in 1965 then returned home to Pigeon Forge to raise his family. ....
