Desiree Valentine, assistant professor of philosophy in Marquette University’s Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, has received a Career Enhancement Fellowship from the Institute for Citizens and Scholars, formerly the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.
The Career Enhancement Fellowship Program seeks to increase the presence of minority junior faculty members and other faculty members committed to eradicating racial disparities in core fields in the arts and humanities.
“This is truly an exciting opportunity for Dr. Valentine that reflects her multifaceted talent and potential,” said Dr.

The philanthropic foundation will grant each fellow $200,000 to fund significant research and writing in the social sciences and humanities that address important and enduring issues confronting our society.
