Local filmmaking talent nurtured through Screen Wexford funding

A documentary about the everyday lives of women on a halting site, an animated film about life, death and rebirth, and a dark comedy about bereavement, have been chosen as the successful applicants for Screen Wexford’s ‘Short Film Fund Initiative’.
The three projects, all featuring local filmmakers, will now receive €2,500 in funding for production costs, as well as equipment support from lighting company Teach Solas to the value of €1,500, and a professional mentor to support them throughout the process.
The fund is an initiative of Wexford County Council’s Arts Office in conjunction with Bodecii Film and is run by Screen Wexford, the county’s agency for promoting Film and TV production and training. ....

Joe hopes to exchange tales in novel new project

Such is the breadth of Joe Brennan s back catalogue that within minutes of speaking to someone he can think of a story suited to their needs, a tale likely to capture their imagination.
And he will be using that ability, and plenty of others, over the course of the next two months as he begins The Tale-a-Phone Exchange , a new campaign launched by Wexford Age Friendly and the Arts Office at Wexford County Council.
Starting on Wednesday February 3, Joe will be calling older people across Wexford to tell them a story, one of the many traditional yarns he has written and performed over the course of a lengthy career. ....
