In addition to acting as counsel to SVHC, Morrissey will continue operating his private law practice in Bennington. The late Tom Jacobs had served as SVHC s general counsel until his death in 2020.

Morrissey received his bachelor s in finance from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and his juris doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Law. He has owned his own law practice in Bennington since 2008. He started practicing law in Bennington in 2004 as an associate attorney at Cummings, Dailey & Cohen, LLP, where he later became a partner. Prior to moving to Bennington, Morrissey worked as a senior account manager and in other roles for steel companies in Pennsylvania and Maryland. ....

Wohl returns to DRM after having served for four years as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for the Brattleboro Retreat, Vermont’s only private independent psychiatric hospital, and a regional resource for mental health and addiction services.

Vermont Business Magazine Peter W Hall, a Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, a former United States Attorney for the District of Vermont, a prominent figure in the Rutland, Vermont, community, and a beloved colleague, family member and friend, died today in Rutland. He was 72 years old. His passing was announced by Chief Judge Debra Ann Livingston (see full statement below). He announced last week that he was going into semi-retirement by taking senior status.

The Vermont Bar Association congratulates Judge Peter Hall on the occasion of his taking senior status on the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Judge Hall has been a career-long member of the Vermont Bar Association, serving on its Board of Bar Managers for many years and as President of the VBA in 1995-1996. Judge Hall has worked tirelessly to serve the public and the profession over the course of his legal career, as an extremely well-respected trial practitioner in Rutland, Vermont, as United States Attorney for the District of Vermont, and most recently as a Senior Judge on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. ....
