Investigators confirm Seaside, California resident Hunter Tital was arrested while carrying a loaded gun inside San Jose’s Westfield Valley Fair Mall on Wednesday afternoon. A loaded assault rifle was also found inside his car, along with several extra bullets. Tital allegedly threatened violence at the mall during a Snapchat livestream. A viewer in Santa Cruz County alerted authorities, who are now praising that person for likely saving lives. The motive behind the threats remains unclear.

A man with a loaded gun was arrested Wednesday afternoon at a Northern California mall after he livestreamed on Snapchat that he wanted to “shoot up“ the mall, police said.
The man, who had dark clothing and distinctive purple shoulder-length hair, was tracked to the Westfield Valley Fair Mall and arrested about 45 minutes after the threats were reported to the San Jose Police Department by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, police spokesperson Steve Aponte said.
Police officers “went through the mall, locating the suspect, ultimately taking him into custody without incident,“ Aponte said. ....
