MALACAÑANG has encouraged local chief executives (LCEs) to register for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination, stressing they are now included in the Priority A1 list regardless of their risk classification.
In a press briefing Monday, May 17, 2021, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) signed Resolution 115-B with the concurrence of the Interim National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (iNitag).
“So mayor and governors, magpabakuna na rin po tayo (get vaccinated),” he said.
Resolution 115-B includes all governors and city and municipal mayors or all local chief executives under the Priority Group A1.5 of the priority population groups for Covid-19 vaccines, regardless of the risk classification of their respective local government units (LGUs). ....

“Vax” is the word. Vaccine equity is key to overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic.
The world’s best scientists and researchers were able to produce in record time vaccines to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Drug manufacturers are doing their utmost best to meet the challenge of producing these to meet the demands of all countries, as governments roll out in earnest the vaccines. But the economic imbalance is threatening peoples in poor, if not less developed countries.
Global Citizen has done it again. The institution, behind the star-studded “One World: Together at Home,” raised last year $127.9 million to buy personal protective equipment and other supplies for countries that needed them. In 2021, it produced “Vax Live – The Concert to Reunite the World” that aired on May 8 celebrating hope as families and communities reunite after receiving the vaccine and calling on world leaders to step up for equitable distribution of the Covid-1 ....

TEXAS — At the beginning of the year, Texans were signing up to line up for the COVID-19 vaccine. Now, local health officials say they’re seeing the opposite.
“We’ve done a lot of vaccinating. We’re starting to head into those populations that are not sure if they want to get it,” said Bell County Health District Director Dr. Amanda Robison-Chadwell.
“Back in December and January, there was a waitlist. It took weeks to get an appointment. We no longer have a waitlist now,” said Waco-McLennan Health District Communications Lead Kelly Craine. ....

Vax drive for 18-45 years in Jharkhand postponed indefinitely | Ranchi News

Ranchi: The vaccination drive for 18-45 years of age in Jharkhand, which was originally scheduled from May 1, has been shelved indefinitely owing to the non-availability of vaccines. The registration for the drive has, however, started.
“As the institutions designated by the Indian government did not supply the requisite vaccines, the vaccination program for people aged between 18-45 years is being shelved. The program will begin immediately soon after the doses are available,” the state government said in a statement on Saturday evening.
There are 1.57 crore people within the age group who are eligible for the vaccines. Last month, chief minister Hemant Soren had pledged that the beneficiaries will be provided with the jabs for free. However, the government has not yet released a detailed plan to provide free inoculation. ....
