The human body is a vast mystery that continually surprises us despite all of our studies and research into it. Throughout history there have been those exceptional individuals that display highly unusual physical attributes that cause us to take pause and wonder at the mystery of our bodies, and one area where this literally stands out is in regards to our height. How tall would you say is freakishly tall? Perhaps an NBA player? Maybe 7 feet or so? What if I were tell you that this isn’t nearly the end of the human limit for height, and that there have been individuals who would dwarf even the tallest basketball player? If it sounds wild, it is, but there was once a remarkable individual who was so tall as to be almost legendary, topping an unbelievable nearly 9 feet tall in his prime, and who remains an enigmatic figure and testament to the mysteries of the human body. ....

She was born on December 18, 1926, in Alton, the daughter of the late James Garth and Verna (Roberts) Cuddy. Survivors include a daughter: Patricia C. Paustian of Roxana, a son: John G. Folkerts of Roxana, three grandchildren: Abigail A. Paustian, Amanda K. Paustian (Brian Sellers), Melissa E. Paustian, two great grandchildren: Daniel R. Welborn, Kaitlin A. Welborn, a brother: Jerry Ivan Cuddy (Teresa Cuddy) She acquired a number of diplomas from Blackburn College, Shurtleff College, and SIUE. As a teacher she taught with love and humor. For those fortunate enough to partake in one of her classes, be it anywhere from kindergarten to Senior in High School, they had fun learning. Born in Taylorville, IL on September 22, 1927 to Orrin S. and Mary Nelle (Hanauer) Nash. On June 8, 1984 he married Sue Haycraft in Springfield, IL. He was a graduate of Edinburgh High School and served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII. He was a graduate of Shurtleff College and received his Master’s degree from the University of Illinois, with a Specialist Certificate in Education from SIUE. He taught school in Edinburg and Girard, IL and Wood River-Hartford School District #15 where he became principal of Woodrow Wilson School. He was Superintendent of School District #15 for 15 years before he retired in 1984. He was involved in the Wood River Township Kiwanis Club, Wood River Rotary Club and the Gateway East Chapter of Phi Delta Kap ....
