Maltese Film Selected for World Cinema Dramatic Competition at Sundance Film Festival

Luzzu, directed by Alex Camilleri, will be the first Maltese feature film in the island’s history to be selected for the highly competitive World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival, which will run from the 28th January to 3rd February 2021.
The film stars real fishermen, Jesmark and David Scicluna, as well as actress Michela Farrugia, in the main roles. It was produced by Rebecca Anastasi, Ramin Bahrani (The White Tiger, 99 Homes), Alex Camilleri and Oliver Mallia, and was made with the support of the Malta Film Fund and the financial incentives provided by the Malta Film Commission and the Government of Malta. ....

Maltese film selected for Sundance Film Festival

Luzzu, a Maltese feature film directed by Alex Camilleri, has been selected for the prestigious World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival.
The festival will run from January 28 to February 3, 2021.
Luzzu follows the story of Jesmark, a struggling Maltese fisherman who is forced to turn his back on generations of tradition and risk everything by involving himself in black market fishing to provide for his wife and newborn child.
This is Camilleri’s debut feature film. It was produced by Rebecca Anastasi, Ramin Bahrani (The White Tiger, 99 Homes), Alex Camilleri and Oliver Mallia.

Producer Pooja Kohli Taneja has a tough task ahead of her: she has to raise the bar for a show that is already highly rated.
The first season of
Delhi Crime, produced by Ivanhoe Productions and Golden Karavan, where Kohli Taneja is one of six partners, won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series in November. A second and third season are on their way.
