MOUNT VERNON, Wash. The beds at Skagit Valley Hospital are almost completely full.
Doctors started seeing the strain on the system start when the state began reopening near the end of June following more than a year of COVID-19 restrictions.
Wait times in the emergency department at Skagit Valley Hospital are more than double what they usually are.
At some clinics, the waits have reached four hours.
The situation has health officials concerned over the level of care their patients are receiving. ....

» Amazon distribution center coming to Skagit County

SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. – Amazon has confirmed that Skagit County will be the site of a new distribution facility.
This type of facility is the last stop for packages on their way to customers and and an Amazon spokesperson says it will bring hundreds of jobs to the area.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports the facility is being built west of Burlington on Bay Ridge Drive, just east of Skagit Regional Airport.
The project includes a nearly 112,000 square foot package transfer station and distribution facility.
Amazon says it will be smaller than a fulfillment center planned for Arlington and will be the last stop for packages on their way to customers. ....
