MOUNT VERNON, Wash. The beds at Skagit Valley Hospital are almost completely full.
Doctors started seeing the strain on the system start when the state began reopening near the end of June following more than a year of COVID-19 restrictions.
Wait times in the emergency department at Skagit Valley Hospital are more than double what they usually are.
At some clinics, the waits have reached four hours.
The situation has health officials concerned over the level of care their patients are receiving. ....

As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, 387,202 tests have come back positive for COVID-19 since March 8, 2020.
A total of 358,139 Iowans have tested positive. This number was found by adding PCR individuals positive (296,010) to antigen individuals positive (62,129) on the Positive Case Analysis dashboard.
These numbers differ since many Iowans have been tested more than once.
The 7-day and 14-day positive rates are both 4.7%.
More than 4.61 million tests have been administered in the state, including PCR and antigen tests.
5,857 Iowans have died unchanged for the third straight day.
339,094 Iowans are considered to be recovered from the virus.
NOTE: As of June 30, 2020, IDPH classifies anyone not hospitalized or deceased after 28 days to be recovered. ....
