Ocean Township police revive 10-month-old at Route 9 Dunkin'


It s amazing how easy it is every single week to deliver a story to you about a life-saving action performed by a cop. Seems that it s a daily occurrence and we could really do #BlueFriday every day.
Today s honorees are the hero cops in Ocean Township. A few weeks ago, Patrolman Philip Calanni and Lt. Scott Murphy joined Sgt. Deleeuw from the Ocean County Sheriff s Department when they encountered a mom and her 10-month-old son who was not breathing.
The scene unfolded inside a Dunkin on Route 9. The officers immediately went into action and began CPR. They were able to get the baby breathing again and restore his pulse. ....

Ocean County law enforcement officers save the life of infant boy

Ocean Township Police said that on May 7 around 9:37 am, Patrolman Philip Calanni and Lieutenant Scott Murphy along with Sergeant Deleeuw of the Ocean County Sheriffs Department happened to be in the Dunkin Donuts after an assignment where they were flying a drone in town when a woman came in carrying her 10-month old infant son who had become unresponsive.
Officers on scene quickly learned the infant wasn’t breathing and had no pulse so CPR began to resuscitate the little boy.
The child was able to regain a pulse and began breathing on his own, thanks to the officers applying CPR prior to the arrival of first-aid squads. ....

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - In continuation of National Police Week, the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office held a memorial ceremony Tuesday for those who were slain in uniform over the years.
Representatives from Forrest County Sheriff Office, the Hattiesburg Police Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol were present for the ceremony.
The service included the posting of the colors, placing of the wreath and prayer led by Chaplain Scott Murphy. ....

WGLT updated this story to reflect the County Board Executive Committee endorsed the five-district plan on Monday.
A McLean County Board member says his party has been plotting behind closed doors for months to create new district board maps that would make it harder for Democrats to get elected.
Republican Josh Barnett of Bloomington said County Board chair John McIntyre rejected his call for a bipartisan advisory panel to help draw the maps.
“They are trying to dump Republican voters from the rural areas into Bloomington-Normal in an attempt to keep control of the County Board for the next decade,” Barnett said. “They are not being open about that. They are not being honest about it and it’s time that it stops and is brought to light.” ....
