Dunfermline pensioner speaks out after difficulty contacting Fife Council

Dunfermline pensioner Jenny Reid had originally tried to contact Fife Council after her bin was not emptied.
A DUNFERMLINE pensioner said she had tears in her eyes with frustration after failing to get through to Fife Council.
Jenny Reid, 83, had tried to contact the local authority about two issues last week and said she is still to get through on the phone to tell them about the problems.
After initially trying on Monday, the Moodie Street resident tried again on Friday however gave up after waiting for over half an hour each call.
She has now called for more to be done to ensure that the older generation like herself are able to get through. ....

The furlough scheme has been providing employers with 80 per cent of a worker’s salary up to a cap of £2,500 a month.
But under the first stage of a gradual scaling back introduced on Thursday, employers must continue to pay 80 per cent of salaries to qualify for the scheme, but they will receive only 70 per cent of that sum from the government, meaning employers have to find 10 per cent of the wage bill themselves.
From August until the end of September, when the scheme ends, employers will have to pay at least 20 per cent of a worker’s salary, with the government picking up 60 per cent of the wage. ....
