What are the best high schools in New York state? U.S. News and World Report has released its 2021 rankings of nearly 24,000 public high schools nationwide, including 1,281 schools in the Empire State.
Five schools in Central New York made the top 100, led by New Hartford Senior High School for the third year in a row. New Hartford ranked No. 67 across the state with a 100% graduation rate and a 59.2 college readiness score. ....

5 Central New York High Schools On US News And World Report's Top 100 In NY

Syracuse, N.Y. - US News and World Report just released the best High Schools in New York and 5 of those are in Central New York.
New Hartford leads the pack for the third year in a row ranking No. 67 across the state with a 100% graduation rate.
They are followed by Ithaca No. 72, Jamesville-Dewitt High School 73, Fayetteville-Manlius 76, and Skaneateles Senior High School at 84.
All have graduation rates of at least 94% and college readiness scores above 50.

One Hundred Eighty-Six Years Ago: In the spring of 1834, Syracuse was one of many small, but growing villages that had sprung up along the Erie Canal since the completion of the first section in 1820.
The engineering marvel of its day, the Erie Canal drastically reduced the costs and time associated with transporting everything from goods, to people and ideas, and turned New York into the Empire State. At the same time, a new technology, the railroad, was emerging that ultimately displaced the canal after years of stout competition. ....
