SECOND JAB: Vaccine committee to rollout second doses of AstraZeneca today

More than 36,000 doses of the vaccine administered in-country
NASSAU, BAHAMAS Nearly two months after the government began administering the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, it will begin to roll out the second dose of the vaccine to eligible recipients beginning tomorrow.
According to the National COVID-19 Vaccine Consultative Committee, the administration of the second dose of the vaccine, which is a two-dose vaccine, will begin on New Providence and Grand Bahama.
Appointments to receive the second dose of the vaccine were available to book online as of yesterday.
In a statement, the committee said the date of the second appointment should be no fewer than seven weeks after the date of the first jab. ....

BACK IN ACTION: COVID-19 vaccinations resume on New Providence

National vaccine committee to hold press conference on rollout at 3pm tomorrow
NASSAU, BAHAMAS Following a temporary pause over the weekend, COVID-19 vaccinations on New Providence are resuming this week with two additional centers, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) announced yesterday.
“Two new community COVID-19 vaccination sites have been added to service more walk-up appointments and increase access to the vaccine, the National COVID-19 Vaccine Consultative Committee has announced,” read an OPM statement.

Southall street charity celebrates £10,000 donation

The cheque was handed over this week at Berkeley’s newly-named development, The Green Quarter.
The charity’s partnership with Berkeley has already enabled HSSH to recruit a full-time, complex-needs case worker.
The new donation will go towards vital COVID-response outreach work.
HSSH is running a winter clothing collection appeal this December and is asking for items such as sleeping bags, blankets and trainers as well as men’s warm jumpers and jackets.
Donations will be accepted at St Anselm’s Church from 11am-3pm on December 18 and from midday to 5pm on December 20.
Berkeley is also sponsoring Ealing Council’s Christmas lights display across the borough. ....
