Struggling pub near Ludlow could be turned into a house


THERE are plans to turn a countryside pub near Ludlow into a house as it s no longer required, viable or fit for purpose.
The owners of The Jolly Frog, near Leintwardine on the Herefordshire-Shropshire border, said they have marketed the pub for rent but nobody sees it as a viable business.
The pub has been closed for two years, so Stuart Lawson has asked Herefordshire Council if he can turn the pub, around one mile north of the village on the A4113, into a house.
In a design and access statement sent to the council, consultants gave nine reasons for why the scheme should be given the green light. ....

LIFEBOAT volunteers helped a man and his dog back to shore after their boat broke down at sea.
The Hartlepool RNLI crew was called at 7.10pm on Tuesday after an eight metre power boat suffered mechanical failure off Crimdon, on the east Durham coast. 
Stuart Lawson, who was on board the boat with dog Jinx has now thanked the team. 
Inshore lifeboat Solihull and volunteer crew launched at 7.24pm and were alongside the casualty vessel at 7.31pm where it was taken under tow to Hartlepool Marina. ....

(TNS) The Lebanon City Council is currently weighing the pros and cons of installing a new license plate recognition system around entrances to the city. During a work session Thursday, Police Chief Mike Justice addressed the Council regarding the software and what it might mean for the city.
