FLEEING AN OFFICER
EAST EARL TWP.: Nicholas Chase Criss, 18, of East Earl, was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and other traffic violations after he led police on a brief vehicle pursuit just after midnight on Jan. 29, police said. Officers were attempting to pull over Criss, who does not have a valid driverâs license, after he blew past a stop sign on Toddy Drive near Springville Road, police said.

EAST LAMPETER TWP.: An unidentified man picked up a wallet that had been dropped at a Walmart on 2034 Lincoln Highway East at around 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 28 and drove away without making any attempt to return it, police said.

A reported tornado ripped through Fultondale, Alabama, on Monday night, killing one person, critically injuring several others and leaving a path of destruction in its wake.
Fultondale Mayor Larry Holcomb said the storm - which hit the northern Jefferson County city about 10:30 p.m. - cut a quarter mile wide swath after touching down near Interstate 65.
It moved northeast toward Fultondale High School where there is substantial damage. Multiple businesses - such as Hurst Towing and the Hampton Inn were destroyed, as well as most everything in between.

MINDEN A Fort Plain resident is facing arson and cruelty to animal charges after allegedly causing the fire that led to the death of his two cats.
Adam J. Prime, 32, of 571 Salt Springville Road, Fort Plain was charged with third-degree arson, a felony, and aggravated cruelty to animals, also a felony, following an investigation into a structure fire at his home in which two cats died in the fire.
According to a press release, on Saturday at about 6:46 a.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office dispatched the South Minden Volunteer Fire Department for reports of a structure fire at 571 Salt Springville Road. Once the fire chief determined the fire under control, the Montgomery County Fire Investigation Team was requested.
