Holiday traffic off to rocky start after I-80 crash, millions still expected to travel

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. A crash involving an SUV hauling a camper caused traffic headaches for drivers, many of whom were on the road traveling to their Fourth of July holiday destination.
Fire crews say the SUV spun out in the eastbound lanes just before the Limestone exit.
Douglas Wilson with the Turbot Township Fire Company says it only involved an SUV which lost control of its camper and ended up in the median.
“They were coming eastbound obviously, and something happened, the trailer got a little squirrelly. They just lost control, and it flipped over, and it took the explorer with it,” said Wilson. ....

I WISH to thank the police, emergency services, NRW, WCBC and other agencies who supported the community of Bangor on Dee during, and in the aftermath of Storm Christoph.
They worked tirelessly in extremely difficult and dangerous conditions ensuring the safety of residents and property.
Thanks also to the local volunteer Flood Wardens who checked on the safety of vulnerable residents in the early hours and provided ongoing support in the following days.
I also want to thank Splash Magic at Plas Madoc, and Ysgol St Dunawd who provided an evacuation centre and command post, respectively. ....

Recovery work is ongoing in the area to deal with ongoing flooding, and damage left after storm ‘Christoph’.
In an update late into the evening last night Cllr David A Bithell Lead Member Environment and Transport at Wrexham Council detailed how the water levels in Bangor on Dee peaked “at a record level” and have been reducing, though slowly. Natural Resource Wales are due to inspect the river embankment during this morning.
Cllr Bithell added that no residents are currently using Splash Magic rest centre and the Council support team has been stood down and when it is safe to return to homes the council will work with partners to communicate with all the displaced residents, and the wider community. ....
