Hutchinson Center offers Online Grant Writing program - UMaine News

Registration is now open for the five-day professional development program “Grant Writing Essentials,” which will be held from 9 a.m.–noon May 21 and 28, and June 4, 11 and 18 through the University of Maine Hutchinson Center. 
This synchronous Zoom program will teach the basics of grant seeking for new and experienced grant writers — from inception to completion. Participants will learn how to prepare an organization to apply for grants, where to find funders and funding opportunities, and how to develop the components of a grant and submit a complete and compelling application. 
Instructor Elizabeth Haffey is a Maine-based professional grant writer. She received her bachelor’s degree in international affairs from George Washington University and is currently studying for a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Southern Maine. Through ....

Belfast, Maine Registration is now open for an online two-day professional development program, Supporting Students From Diverse Backgrounds, offered April 29–30 from 4–6 p.m. through the University of Maine Hutchinson Center. The fee for this online program is $95.
This virtual professional development program is offered in partnership with the University of Southern Maine’s Office of Student Engagement and Leadership. Results from COVID-related workshops to be shared

ORONO Two Maine music therapists and a Maine-based theater producer and director will present the results of their pandemic-related workshops at 7 p.m. on April 16 and April 23 on Zoom.
The presentations will be made as part of the Jack Pine Project, a community arts endeavor organized by the Maine Folklife Center, Maine Studies Program and Hutchinson Center at the University of Maine.
Both of the talks are free and open to the public.
The April 16 talk will feature music therapists Carla Tanguay and Kate Beever, who conducted separate workshops that taught non-musicians how to express their thoughts and feelings about the COVID-19 pandemic through songs. Both will present the songs created during their workshops and talk about the process involved, as well as what their students said about the project. ....

Two Maine music therapists and a Maine-based theater producer and director will present the results of their pandemic-related workshops on April 16 and April 23 as part of the Jack Pine Project, a community arts project organized by the Maine Folklife Center, Maine Studies Program and Hutchinson Center at the University of Maine.
