Two women in bus wounded in crossfire between police, robbers July 17, 2021 Two women travelling in a bus were wounded on Friday in an exchange of fire between police and robbers near Defence Morr. The injured women were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. They were identified as 50-year-old Zar Pari, wife of Niaz Ali, and 36-year-old Kulsoom, wife of Ghulam Habib. Police said the shoot-out occurred when some cops were carrying out snap checking in the area. They signalled two men on a motorcycle to stop but instead of stopping, they opened fire on police and tried to escape. In retaliation, police returned fire. During the shoot-out, one of the suspects managed to escape and the other got into a bus to avoid arrest. It was then, the two women travelling in the bus were wounded in firing. ....
Minor boy ‘sexually assaulted’ A minor boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by a shopkeeper on Sunday. According to the police report, the 14-year-old son of Abdul Majeed, a resident of Shamsabad went to a grocery store to buy cigarettes where the suspect allegedly raped him. The case has been filed by Imtiaz Ahmed, a resident of Farid Chowk Millat Town. Police arrested the suspect and registered a case against him under Section 377 (Unnatural offences) of Pakistan Penal Code. Incidents of sexual violence against women and minors have been rampant across the province. Last month, a 17-year-old boy was raped allegedly by Abdul Ghafoor in Jaranwala Road area near Yasin Chowk. ....
