ITC ruling on dumping cases due June 23

WASHINGTON The International Trade Commission (ITC), which held a hearing this week on the antidumping duties case involving consumer tires from South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, is scheduled to release its decision(s) on the case on June 23.
The case then goes back to the U.S. Commerce Department, which is scheduled to publish the agency s final ruling on the investigation on or about July 12, according to the ITC.
Supporters and opponents of the imposition of antidumping duties on passenger and light truck (P/LT) tires from the four Asian lands squared off May 25 to plead their cases virtually in a hearing hosted by the ITC. ....

WASHINGTON The government of Taiwan, based on its analysis of the U.S. tire market, is planning to urge the International Trade Commission (ITC) at a hearing May 25 to render a negative final jury determination in the U.S. government s pending investigation of passenger and light truck (P/LT) tires from Taiwan and three other Asian nations.
In a 13-page written submission to the ITC ahead of the May 25 hearing, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the U.S. argues that: … we respectfully urge the ITC to conclude that the domestic U.S. P/LT tire industry is not suffering material injury nor threatened with future material injury by reason of P/LT tire imports from Taiwan. ....

Commerce: Elevated duties on Asian tires remain

Commerce: Elevated duties on Asian tires remain

WASHINGTON The U.S. Commerce Department has affirmed the imposition of elevated antidumping duties on consumer tires from South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, albeit with a few revisions to the preliminary duties issued earlier.
Commerce has been studying the situation since late December, when it issued its
preliminary determination to impose anti-dumping import duties on passenger and light truck tires shipped from the four Asian lands, ranging at that time from 13.25% to as high as 98.44%.
Commerce s decision which finds that passenger vehicle and light truck tires from South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam are being, or are likely to be, sold in the U.S. at less than fair value sets the stage for a potentially rancorous hearing May 25, conducted by the International Trade Commission (ITC), which must rule on Commerce s decision. ....
