Sonora, CA – After a six hour meeting, Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to approve the Environmental Impact (EIR) Report for the Terra Vi Lodge Yosemite project with a limit on green house gas emissions. Most of the time was spent assessing possible EIR errors, and several hours of public comments, many against and some in support of the project.
The Terra Vi Lodge Yosemite project plans to construct 140 guest rooms, 25 cabins, a market, and a lodge near the intersection of Highway 120 and Sawmill Mountain Road. There will also be employee housing, outdoor amenities, walkways and parking. It will spread across 64-acres at the intersection of Highway 120 and Sawmill Mountain Road approximately half way between the community ....

Supervisors Approve Yosemite Under Canvas Resort

Groveland, CA Members of the public concerned about a planned luxury tent “glamping” resort in southern Tuolumne County focused on issues surrounding fire risk, water scarcity and increased traffic.
The Yosemite Under Canvas project was reviewed by the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors last night. The project had earlier been approved 5-1 by the planning commission, but an appeal was filed, sending it to the board of supervisors.
In the end, the supervisors voted 5-0 in support of the planning commission’s decision. However, supervisor John Gray, who represents the south county, added some conditions to the project approval, and they were okayed by the fellow board members. Related to f ....

Groveland, CA The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors will review a development project planned for southern Tuolumne County.
The Yosemite Under Canvas is a luxury tent, or glamping resort, proposed near the intersection of Highway 120 and Hardin Flat Road. The planning commission approved the project 5-1 on November 18, but it was appealed to the supervisors.
The project calls for 99 rental tent units, a reception tent, mobile kitchen, laundry facilities and bathrooms spread over 80 acres.
The special supervisors meeting gets underway at 2pm this afternoon (December 17). It is physically closed to the public but can be watched online. Information on how to comment can be found here. ....
