Three alumni to receive 2021 Harvard Medal


The Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) has announced that Walter K. Clair ’77, M.D. ’81, M.P.H. ’85, Nancy-Beth Gordon Sheerr ’71, and Preston N. Williams, Ph.D. ’67, will receive the 2021 Harvard Medal.
First awarded in 1981, the Harvard Medal is given to those who have demonstrated extraordinary service to the University in a variety of areas, including teaching, fundraising, leadership, innovation, administration, and volunteerism. Alumni, former faculty and staff, and members of organizations connected with the University are eligible for consideration. The medals will be presented virtually to the 2021 and 2020 recipients at the HAA’s annual meeting on June 4.

Upsolve, the nonprofit I work at, like a number of other organizations founded at Harvard, got its start when our cofounder Rohan Pavuluri ’18 found this path. Two Malaysians headed to Harvard College


PETALING JAYA: It was such great news that even the King congratulated them.
Jarell Cheong Tze Wen and Muhammad Hamdi Ahmad Hakimi have been accepted into Harvard College in Massachusetts, whose 3.43% admission rate was at its lowest this year.
This means that only 1,968 students were selected out of the 57,435 applications received by the renowned US institution, said the Harvard Club of Malaysia in a statement.
Harvard College is the undergraduate school of Harvard University.
Muhammad Hamdi, who studied at SM Sains Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur and completed A Levels at Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar as a Bank Negara Kijang scholar, was in fact also accepted by Columbia University, another Ivy League university. ....
