The National Association for Business Resources selected a large group of companies in West Michigan as exemplar organizations to work for due to their âinnovative and thoughtfulâ approach to human resources.
NABR earlier this month published its 2021 list of West Michiganâs Best and Brightest Companies to Work For, and 166 companies in the region were selected to receive the honor.

Building off the success of their popular Dragon’s Milk barrel aged stout beer, New Holland Brewing Company is introducing a unique new product onto the Michigan beverage scene. Dragon’s Share hard seltzer is about to hit the market, and it is unlike any other seltzer out there.
“We are so proud of the entire team that brought Dragon’s Share to life,” said Dominick Berquist, brand manager for New Holland Brewing Company. “This project started as the ultimate ‘what if..?’, and as we tasted trial after trial, we knew we were on to something special.”

The West Coast Chamber of Commerce will feature a pair of local company leaders at a virtual event on the topic of employee retention.
The Holland-based chamber will feature Ed Amaya, president of Kenowa Industries, and Brett VanderKamp, CEO of New Holland Brewing Co., for the April installment of the virtual Wake Up West Coast Coffee Break series, “The Secret Sauce of Employee Retention,” which was held 10-10:45 a.m. Tuesday.
“In a time when attracting talent is a challenge in many industries across the board, developing a culture and work environment where employees want to stay for the long term is a key strategy in retaining talent,” the chamber said. “The April Wake Up West Coast Coffee Break features a conversation with leaders of two local businesses known for thriving workplace cultures. They will discuss their top tips for keeping their teams motivated and their turnover rates low.”
