The COVID-19 pandemic has Maritimers thinking up unique ways to keep their Easter traditions alive.
Current public health restrictions only allow small groups to gather, however many are still finding ways to celebrate with their family – even from afar.
Brad Deware is the owner of MacArthur s Flower Shop in Moncton. He says he s received hundreds of orders with people calling across the country.
A lot of people from out of town are calling placing orders for family that can t come visit, from Ontario, B.C., basically all over the country, said Deware.
Sending flowers is just one substitute for getting together – something New Brunswick health officials are advising against. ....

23-year-old man in hospital with serious injuries after crashing dirt bike

HALIFAX
A 23-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries after crashing his dirt bike in East Clifford, N.S. on Wednesday.
Around 6:25 p.m., police were advised of a collision on a trail off East Clifford Road.
Police, along with fire officials and EHS members, attended the scene where they found a damaged dirt bike that had struck a rock.
The driver, 23, sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing. ....

Fredericton police find body of missing 23-year-old woman

Fredericton police confirmed they have located the remains of a 23-year-old woman who was reported missing on Thursday.
Police say no foul play is suspected and the next of kin has been notified.
Regretfully, we can now confirm that the remains of the 23-year woman who was reported missing from St. Mary’s First Nation yesterday, were located earlier this afternoon.

Pictou County man arrested after allegedly walking around New Glasgow with machete

HALIFAX
A 39-year-old Pictou County man is facing charged after he was arrested for allegedly carrying a machete while ‘acting erratically’ on Wednesday night in New Glasgow, N.S.
Police say they were called to a pub on Stewart Street at around 9:10 p.m., where a man had reportedly left the area with a machete attached to his back.
Officers located the man near Archimedes Street and attempted to speak with him, at which point he grabbed the machete.
Police say they deployed a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) on the man, and took him into custody without further incident. He was also taken to hospital for evaluation. ....
