Crippled by the $100 million in revenue it says it lost because of the pandemic, the YMCA of Greater New York is selling 954 acres on the rugged western edge of Orange County where it operates three adjacent camps, including one that runs year-round and hosts school class trips, weddings and weekend retreats.
The YMCA s sale announcement last month horrified the camps devoted supporters and set off a frantic quest to raise enough money to buy the property and continue the camp programs. They now have one week left to collect funds after the YMCA extended its deadline for offers to March 19. ....
