Jason Williams vowed in his inaugural speech to hold those guilty of serious crimes accountable. But he repeatedly stressed the need in a city with a high incarceration rate and a high percentage of Black prisoners to stop seeking jail time for people whose crimes are related to poverty, drug addiction or mental illness. ....

Westwego accountant pleads guilty to tax fraud MGN Online and last updated 2021-01-07 18:10:01-05 LAFAYETTE, La. â The U.S. Attorney s Office announced that Henry Timothy, 69, of Westwego, pleaded guilty in federal district court to four counts of tax fraud. According to a release, Timothy is the owner and sole tax preparer for B&B Accounting Services, located in Westwego. He operates his business out of his home and has been a tax preparer since 2012. According to information presented to the court at the guilty plea hearing, Timothy admitted to preparing and electronically submitting false and fraudulent U.S. Individual Tax Returns on behalf of himself and his wife for the tax years of 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. ....
